
This site is designed to give information on both
current and proposed wireless networking for access to the University
network at Florida Tech. This does not cover information on research done
by the Wireless Center of Excellence.
The current wireless infrastructure is a mix of 802.11b (11Mbps) and 802.11g. (54 Mbps) The coverage map below distinguishes where 802.11g service is available. 802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b. Any 802.11b or 802.11g card will work in any of the current coverage areas.

Any 802.11b/g Wi-Fi Compliant card is acceptable for connecting
to the network. These cards can be purchased at any computer store.

register their laptop or pda for wireless access for all their connectivity
requests.
- Set up your wireless card according to the manufacturer's
instructions. The following data provides information that you may be asked
for.
